The OnePlus 8T was scheduled to hit world markets in about a month. While the OnePlus 8 series has only been around for a few months, a massive leak reveals what to expect from its predecessor.
OnLeaks, a highly reliable leak, shared renderings of what he suggests could be what the upcoming OnePlus flagship will look like. Some specifications of the device were also successful and left little to our imagination. It might not be accompanied by a OnePlus 8T Pro this year in particular, but there may be other products that will share the stage.
The biggest change comes with the design and placement of the camera module. Gone is the iconic center camera array in favor of a tacky rectangular island that will be in the top left corner. Visible this time are four lenses, the source of which suggests it is a 48MP primary camera, a 16MP ultra-wide angle lens, a 5MP macro shooter and a 2MP depth sensor. The selfie camera is bumped up to 32 MP.
The display on the OnePlus 8T may switch back to a flat panel, but the refresh rate would be upgraded to 120Hz, which is equivalent to the OnePlus 8 Pro. It is expected to cover 6.55 inches and has a single cutout for the selfie camera. The internal specs may not see a massive upgrade as the source confirms it will be powered by the same Snapdragon 865 chipset rather than opting for the Snapdragon 865 Plus.
Major upgrades are also planned for the battery, as the OnePlus 8T finally gets support for faster 65W charging. This bit has surfaced a few times in the past, so it’s likely it will see the light of day.
We should also hear more about the OnePlus Nord Lite and the OnePlus smartwatch at the same event.
